Phil Prescott of Braeside Pest Control can boast a list of reasons on why he is the best suited to carry out pest management needs throughout South East Melbourne. But it is his latest achievement, becoming accredited with PestCert, a national accreditation program for pest managers, that he is most excited by.
PestCert general manager Ron De Groot said PestCert, a not-for-profit independent program, was formed to significantly raise standards of professionalism over and above those currently required to gain a pest management licence.
“It will also significantly improve the pest management industry’s reputation and standing in the community, and give consumers confidence in the industry,” Ron said.
“Consumers can be confident that if they employ a PestCert-accredited company such as Braeside Pest Control, they will be employing a pest manager who is prepared to commit to the highest standards of professionalism and service,” he added.
As well as demonstrating an appropriate level of competency and ongoing skills development, PestCert-accredited technicians must also comply with industry codes and standards by undertaking continuing professional development, using only well-maintained equipment and vehicles, and store approved chemicals in ways which maximise human and environmental health and safety. PestCert-accredited businesses are also audited to ensure their compliance with PestCert codes.
Phil is justifiably proud of his company’s PestCert accreditation status.
“I have lived and worked in South East Melbourne all my life and so I have a good knowledge of local conditions,” Phil says.
“I believe that if you are going to do a job, you have to do it properly and your reputation is built on those stands.
“PestCert accreditation acknowledges that the standards I work to are the highest set by the industry and that makes me stand out from other poorly-trained technicians who are operating, not only in Melbourne, but throughout Australia.”
Braeside Pest Control specialises in pest management of general pests, both in the domestic and commercial environments. Phil promotes the use of the most environmentally-friendly products available to carry out his work.
